Jonah Atkins creates cinematic portraits rooted in authenticity, using light, location, and landscape to tell stories that feel both natural and deeply human. Rather than separating his subjects from their surroundings, he uses location as an integral part of the narrative, blending documentary honesty with a carefully composed visual style that reveals character through subtle moments, genuine connection, and an understated sense of humour. A graduate with honours from Mohawk College's Photography: Still & Motion program, Jonah draws inspiration from his rural Ontario upbringing and a lifelong love of film, bringing a strong sense of atmosphere and place to every assignment. His photography has been featured in The Globe and Mail and Report on Business Magazine, and recognized by the Sony World Photography Awards, Skills Ontario, and the Emerge Media Awards.
"Every shoot is a puzzle. I love figuring out how the pieces come together to tell a story."
